The 2012 Mountain Duals will take place on December 28th and 29th at RFA High School in Rome NY. Each team will wrestle 10 dual meets over the two days. Cohoes H.S. [Section 2] is looking for 2 out of section teams to participate in a 12 team dual meet tourney @ Cohoes H.S. Dec.14-15, 2012. All teams guaranteed 8 duals for this 2-day dual meet tournament. Awards: Top 3 teams, Each team MOW, Team Sportsmanship Award. Entry fee is $400. Phoenix is hosting a JV Tourney on Friday evening December 14th on 5 mats and a Varsity Round Robin (not dual round robin) tourney on Saturday December 15th. Last year the Varsity team had 6 teams and everyone had 5 matches each. This year we would like to make it 10 teams and still getting 5 matches each. Contact Coach Mills 315 569-2746. Churchville-Chili has openings in the 31st Annual DeMeco-Trainor Dual Meet Tournament on December 15th. They have a few spots to fill so please respond ASAP if interested. Plenty of food will be provided for coaches all day and trophies AND tshirts go to the top two teams. The tournament will be well-run with an exciting atmosphere for the wrestlers. Cato Meridian is looking for teams to attend its one day dual meet tournament on Dec. 8th. Each team will get 5 matches and there are team trophies for the top 3 teams and each team will receive an M.O.W. trophy to be selected by each coach. Horseheads is looking for 2 more teams to fill its 10 team dual meet round robin tournament. Teams that have committed are Penfield, Warsaw, Portville, Camden, Wayland-Cohocton, Corning, Horseheads & Bath. The tournament date is Nov. 30th & Dec. 1st. Carthage will be hosting their 2nd Annual Carthage JV holiday Tournament on Saturday December 22nd. Last time we held the tournament, most wrestlers got 4-5 matches, and we split the cost among the schools. It is a great chance to get your JV wrestlers experience. General Brown has an opening for the General Brown Duals on December 8th. This is an 8 team dual meet with 2 pools of 4 with 2 crossovers. Each team will wrestle 5 times. Camden is looking for more teams to fill out the field in the 1st Annual Camden Classic (formerly the Tri-Valley Tournament). This is an individual tournament, but team points will be awarded for all wrestlers. Teams can enter up to 17 entries. For more information, see the detailed flyer. The Irondequoit Wrestling Community is bringing back the The Art "Bear" Connorton tournament, traditionally held during the Christmas, New Years Holiday week. This year the tournament is being held on Saturday December 29th. We are looking for 12 teams to fill out the tournament. This is a good opportunity for larger programs to enter their B teams. We have had a change in Athletic Director as well as head coach and because of this I understand we have a late start on attempting to get teams. If you do not have a full schedule and are looking for a individual tournament this is the one for you. We want to restore this tournament to its former glory and hope to start it out the right way this year, if you are interested please email me back. The Lewis County Duels has an immediate opening for the dual meet tournament on Friday 12/28/2012. There are currently seven teams and would like to have eight total. This would allow us to have two brackets of four with crossover matches for the top two and bottom two of each bracket. Current teams involved are Copenhagen, Beaver River, Lowville, South Lewis, Ilion, VVS, and Skaneateles. This is a good chance for a team to get 5 matches for their kids and wrestle some new competition.
