Dr. Peter Capone hails from Watertown as part of the extensive Capone wrestling family. He also played Soccer and Track. In 1979 & 1980, He won 2 New York State Wrestling Championships .Peter was the Most Outstanding Wrestler in the 1979 Championships. He also Placed 2nd at the FILA Elite World Championships in Freestyle 1980. He was selected as a High School All-American.
Peter went to Hofstra University where he graduated with a Degree in Biology. At Hofstra, He was selected as a freshman All-American. Peter was a 4 time finalist in the ECC conference tournament and 2 time MOW. He is a 2 time NCAA Division One All-American Placing 7th in 1983 and runner-up in 1985.

He also Placed 4th AAU Senior National Championships, USWA Senior All-American and multiple Empire State Games Championships.

After College, Peter went on to Dental School at SUNY Buffalo. At Buffalo, he was a wrestling grad assistant coach for the UB BULLS for 4 years. There he helped his brother Jim place 3rd in the Division 3 nationals and 5th in the Division 2s.

Peter joined Riverside Dental practice in Binghamton in 1990 and also started coaching at Johnson City from 1990-2012.

His teams won 3 New York State Team Championships 1999, 2003, and 2006, 10 Section 4 Championships,12 Class A Championships,14 STAC League Championships.

Peter coached 3 National Champions Joe Privitere HS, Sean McCormick HS, Josh Glenn NCAA
8 NYS Champions,41 NYS Place Winners,47 Section 4 Champions ,and 5 NYS Wildcards..

One of his happiest coaching moment s was coaching his son Peter to a New York State title 2008.

Peter lives in Johnson City with his Wife Sue and their son Peter and daughter Emily.
