Patrick Conners is a 1984 graduate of Baldwinsville High School where he competed in both football and wrestling. In wrestling, competing for hall of fame coach Leo Johnson, Pat was a 2 time Section 3 Champion at 177 lbs. ('83 and '84) helping his team win the Section 3 team title both those years. In 1984 he earned All-State honors placing 6th at the state championships. In freestyle, Pat won the Cadet Northeast Regionals at Lehigh University in 1982 and placed 2nd and 3rd at the NYS Junior Freestyle State Championships in 1983 and 1984.

Pat continued his football and wrestling careers at St. Lawrence University. Wrestling for hall of fame coach John Clark, Pat was a 4 time All-State wrestler, a 4 time NCAA Division III National Qualifier, a 3 time NCAA East Regional Champion, a 2 time NCAA All-American, and was the 1988 NCAA Div. III National Champion at Heavyweight leading St. Lawrence University to the national team title.

After earning his Masters Degree in 1989 from St. Lawrence, Pat began his teaching and coaching career at South Jefferson Central Schools in Adams, NY. In his 25 years at South Jefferson, Pat has coached wrestling, football, girl's lacrosse, softball, and track and field. In wrestling, Pat was an assistant for 3 years working under John Babcock. In 1992, Pat took over as the head varsity coach for the next 21 years. During those 21 years, Pat's teams compiled a dual meet record of 400-81-1 (83 % winning pct.). His teams also won 18 Frontier League Titles, 10 Section 3 Class B Championships, 3 Section 3 Interclass/Divisional Championships, 2 Section 3 Dual Meet Championships, and in 2013 his team was ranked #1 in the New York State Sportswriter's Dual Meet Poll (Division II).

In 2010 and 2013 Pat was honored as the Section III and Frontier League Coach of the Year. In 2010 he was named the New York State and Northeast Regional Coach of the Year by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA). In 2013 he was named the New York State and Northeast Regional Coach of the Year by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS).

In addition to coaching, Pat created and runs the 1000 Islands Summer Duals in Clayton, NY which is one of the premier off-season tournaments in the northeast. He also ran the Spartan Summer Wrestling Camp bringing in many top clinicians, national champions, and Olympians to teach local wrestlers.

Pat is married to Kristin Conners and has three daughters Leah, Libby, and Alaina.
