2004-05

MIKE OSBORNE
It was a breakout year for Jordan-Elbridge. The Eagles have agonized through several difficult seasons building up the program. This year, J-E is the Liberty American League champions, 2nd at Red Creek, Camden Duals champion, 4th Class B tournament, and a school record 19 dual meet victories.
JOE GALLIGAN
Adirondack has reached the level of elite teams in Division II, thanks to the tireless efforts of Coach Galligan. The 2004 Section III Division II champs crowned three more champions at this years tournament and finished second. They are the Center States East champions, CSC Tournament champions, Section III Class C champions, and second at the Section III Division II Tournament.
DERECK BIGFORD
A lot of people forget that it was just a few short years ago that the CNS wrestling program was on life support. Coach Bigford had a plan to rebuild the program, and followed through on it. Now, the Northstars are back-to-back Colonial National League champions - with no end in sight. The former Division III all-american works year-round promoting CNS and Section III Wrestling.
GENE MILLS
It was a season of 'firsts' at Phoenix. The first time the Firebirds have won the league title in 21 years. Defeating Mexico for the first time in 16 years. First ever state champion in school history. Somebody is doing something right. The pinning machine is building a top program at Phoenix starting at the PeeWee level right through modified, JV, and Varsity. Coach Mills takes no breaks either, coaching at Mohawk Valley all summer straight through to next season's start. Phoenix is on the cusp of breaking into the upper echilon of Section III Wrestling, and Coach Mills won't rest until they get there (he won't rest then either).

MIKE CONNERS
Admit it, you were one of those fans talking about what a rotten year it was going to be for Fulton. "They could lose five or more matches with all the guys they lost last year". Heard that a lot. Well, all the Red Raiders did was steamroll all of the Section III competition, win the Class A title, win the Section III duals, and send two more champions to the state tournament. Not bad for an off year. Coach Conners keeps the Raiders focused year-in-year-out. They are the program that all aspire to be, and they're going to be even better next year. It's about time Coach Conners is given his due.
