Jim Dodd

Jim Dodd's wrestling career began at Cazenovia High School 40 years ago, and continued while he attended Springfield College.

Mr. Dodd's coaching career at Mohawk Central High School began in 1965 as head coach and continued until 1980. During those 15 years, Mr. Dodd had the pleasure of coaching some of the finest young men that he had ever been associated with. Some of their great accomplishments include:

* 3 Section III Class Championships (2D & 1C)
* 8 CVC Tournament Championships
* 5 CVC League Championships
* 13 Section III Finalists
* 2 Section III Champions
* 119 Dual Meet Wins

His teams not only had a great deal of success during his tenure, but did it wrestling primarily with larger A & B schools, while his teams were only Class D.

During his illustrious career, Mr. Dodd had the privilege to serve on the New York State Weigh-In Committee for 10 years, and also was a part of the sectional Class Committee.

Not only did Coach Dodd work with outstanding student athletes, but also great assistant coaches, Lyle Aney, and the lat Hal Hefner. Additionally, Mr. Dodd was most proud of the relationships he forged with the parents, student body, and the town of Mohawk for over 15 years.
