Dan Perry

Dan Perry is a New Hartford native and has been involved in sports and fitness since early childhood. Dan began wrestling at age 6 and was an avid participant of the sport up to and including competition at the High School and Collegiate level. During his High School and College career Dan excelled in wrestling insofar that Dan is a consecutive, 2 time NYS, High School wrestling champion in his 171lbs division. During Dan's senior year at New Hartford High School Dan was undefeated in his weight class and went to Nationals in High School, placing 3rd in the entire Nation. Dan went on to wrestle at the State University of New York at Oneonta. During Dan's collegiate, he again qualified and wrestled at the National level of Competition, earning National wide notoriety for his skill, dedication and advancement of the sport of wrestling. Following Dan's wresting career, his passion and love of the sport continued. Dan embarked upon coaching children, at all age levels, developing not only their fitness level, but children acquire wrestling skills, self confidence and sportsmanship. Dan continues to be a steward of health and fitness programs within the context of the Greater Utica Area. He has competed in numerous Olympic weightlifting, CrossFit, and strongman competitions across NYS. Dan is a Certified Personal trainer from the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a USA Weightlifting coach.

Dan is married to his wonderful wife Kim, and he is a devoted father of two amazing children Daniel, age 6 and Dylan age 2. Dan currently resides in Schuyler New York, and is currently employed at the House of the Good Shepherd working with traumatized children of all ages. Dan's hard work, dedication, and discipline to the sport of wresting has helped him develop Health and Fitness programs at the House of the Good Shepherd, which focuses on nutritional counseling, along with incremental exercise, as a basis to promote better health.

Dan is clearly an valued asset our community as well as the House of the Good Shepherd. He has a pervasive concern for people and the ability to mobilize his concern for the enrichment and better for the children he serves, with our community!
