Class of 2024

Paul LeBlanc started his wrestling career when he was five years old with the Chenango Valley and Vestal Youth Wrestling programs in Section Four. Shortly after Paul began wrestling, his family moved to Red Hook in Section Nine where Paul began his high school career as a seventh grader. His family then moved to Morrisville when Paul was in eighth grade where he continued to wrestle for Morrisville-Eaton in Section Three until he graduated in 2005.

Paul had a brilliant high school career, becoming one of the most dominant wrestlers in Section Three at the time finishing with a career record of 201-22. Paul won his first section title in eighth grade at ninety-six pounds. He went on to place fourth at the New York State Tournament while it was one division. During his senior season he went undefeated and won a state championship in a supreme fashion. He won all sectional matches by a technical fall or pin his senior year, wrestling a total of five minutes in the tournament. Paul went on to win the state finals with a convincing 9-0 major decision victory.

Paul joined his older brother Treavor at Cortland State where he continued to make Section Three proud. While at Cortland State, Paul broke the school record for most wins and finished with a 128-14 record. Paul was a four-time Empire Conference Champion, a four-time national qualifier, and a three-time All-American (4th, 7th and 2nd). He won the New York State Collegiate Championship where he had the opportunity to compete against wrestlers from all divisions. Paul was awarded SUNY Cortland senior male athlete of the year award after his final season at Cortland.

When his wrestling career ended, Paul decided to stay at Cortland as a graduate assistant wrestling coach. While coaching at Cortland, Paul helped guide the Cortland team to many successes. In his first year they won the Empire Conference Tournament and crowned two All-Americans. The following year the team finished as runners-up in their conference, again crowning two All-Americans.

After Cortland, Paul went on to teach physical education and coach high school wrestling. He taught and coached in Walton NY before moving on to Jamesville-Dewitt where he currently teaches. Paul has been coaching high school wrestling for 12 years as an assistant and head coach. He has helped coach seventeen sectional champions, four wild card wrestlers, and ten state place finishers.
Paul and his wife Chelsea currently live in Fayetteville and have three beautiful children, Jackson, Finley, and Harper.
