As a student at SUNY Cortland, Bill Rasbeck attended his first wrestling match. He became hooked on the sport.
After graduation, and during his first years teaching at Hancock Central School District, Bill started a wrestling club. His teams would compete in a few matches a year, between basketball and baseball season. Eventually, it became a varsity sport.
As superintendent at Madison Central Schools, Bill was instrumental in creating a wrestling program, recruiting Don Reese to lead the Blue Devils.
During his tenure as superintendent at Fulton, together with Don Distin, he hired Mike Conners to spearhead the Raider program.
In 1963, Bill attended his first New York State Wrestling Tournament. He has been a regular at the state finals ever since.
He is a member of both the OHSL and Section III Past Presidents Committee.
The Section III Wrestling Committee salutes Bill Rasbeck for his support and devotion to our sport.
