Class of 2012

Steve Lowe began wrestling in 1975 at Sauquoit Valley High School. Coached by his Dad 1997 Hall of Fame inductee Ken Lowe ,Steve went on to have a fairly successful wrestling career finishing third in section 3 in 1979. He attended Delhi Ag & Tech where he was part of the Broncos NCAA record 92 match win streak. Unable to follow in his fathers footsteps as a coach Steve turned to officiating.

Steve joined the Central New York Wrestling Officials Association in 1981, where he served as President and Interpreter from 1985 2008. He quickly became the top ranked official in Section 3 and maintained that ranking until retiring in 2008. He has officiated the section 3 dual meet finals, Section 3 Tournament finals, Region 3 NJCAA national qualifiers all multiple times. If there was a Big Match Steve always got the assignment. As the CNYWOA President and Interpreter he has tutored many young/inexperienced officials into NYS Tournament working officials. His demand for excellence on mat and his peers to do the same was tireless.

A Business Owner of a turbine repair facility, Steve lives in Utica with his beautiful wife Darlene of 29 years. They are proud parents of two children Steven 30, Ashley 25.
