Class of 2006

As a five-year starter at Adirondack, Jason Gleasman compiled an amazing record of 150 wins, four class championships, two Section III titles, and in 1993 became the Wildcats first New York State Wrestling Champion. In addition to his outstanding wrestling achievments, Jason was a two-time All New York State selection in football, leading Adirondack to the 1991 Class C Sectional Championship title.

Jason's wrestling career was far from over after graduating from Adirondack. He attended Syracuse University on a full scholarship where he continued to have success on the mats and in the classroom. He earned NCAA All-American status in 1997 and 1998. He graduated from Syracuse University in 1998 as an Academic All-American.

While at Syracuse, Jason began competing in freestyle and greco-roman tournaments, falling in love with the old style of wrestling. His hard work and sacrifices in the off-season paid huge dividends, eventually leading to his ultimate goal. Jason was a five-time freestyle and greco-roman All-American, a seven-time national champion and two-time world champion in greco-roman wrestling. In 1996, while red-shirting from Syracuse University's wrestling team, Jason reached the pinnacle of his sport by representing the United States as a Greco-Roman wrestler in the Atlanta Olympics.

Jason is the son of Pat and Howard Gleasman, Jr. He is married to Kristen Ericson of Saranac Lake. They reside in Colorado Springs where Kristen is a school psychologist and Jason owns a real estate business.

Jason was not afraid to set the bar high and did not become easily discouraged. He made the necessary sacrifices to make his dreams become reality. He traveled around the country competing in any tournament he could find to become the very best at his sport.
