Dan Lang

Class of 2016
Baldwinsville Bees
Dan Lang wrestled for Baldwinsville from 1971-75. During that time he was a Section III champion 3 times and the State champion once. After his senior year Dan was diagnosed with a heart problem called Wolfe Parkinson White Syndrome which required open heart surgery, ending his hopes of college wrestling.

Dan is grateful to have been a part of National Wrestling Hall of Fame Coach, Leo Johnson, and the great Baldwinsville wrestling history. He would like to acknowledge his teammates and coaches from those years along with the coaches and referees he has had the pleasure of working with throughout these past 30 years. Being part of this important sport not only helped him develop his love for wrestling but has been a touchstone for many areas of his life.

After a successful open heart surgery Dan entered his father's trade making a career in construction management and sales. Dan married his only sweetheart and together they raised 7 children and are enjoying their 9 incredibly awesome grandchildren.

After Dan's retirement from coaching he continues to volunteer with the Baldwinsville High School team assisting Tony Burkinshaw and his son, Gene Lang. He also volunteers in the Phoenix modified wrestling program where his grandson, Jadan Bruno, is following in his grandfather's (Pa's) wrestling shoes.
