Mike Roberts

Mike Roberts was a High School All American wrestler for Colonie High School. Roberts was a three time Section 2 Champion in 2002, 2003 and 2004. He went 46-1 as a junior when he finished 3rd in the State Tournament and he went 47-0 as a senior when he won the New York State Championship for the Garnet Raiders under coach Joe Guardino.

Roberts was a year-round wrestler, spending summers honing his skills at the ATWA Wrestling Club, under the direction of Coach Joe DeMeo, and practicing with many other notable wrestlers from Section 2.

Mikes other accomplishments during his stellar high school career includes two Eastern States Championships (2003, 2004) and named to the Eastern States Classic All-Star Team for the years 2003-2011. He was Junior Greco Roman National Champion and New York State and NE Regional Greco Roman and Free Style Champion in 2004. As a junior he was 6th in the Junior Greco Roman National Championships and 2nd in the NE Regional Freestyle Championships (2003). As a sophomore he was 1st in the Junior NE Regional Freestyle Championships (MOW), 1st in the Junior NE Regional Greco Roman Championships and 8th in Cadet Freestyle National Championships (2002). Mike was part of the ATWA Greco Roman team in 2004 that placed 2nd nationally and was on the Freestyle team that placed 5th in the nation and would win numerous other Greco and Freestyle championships throughout his distinguished high school career.

Accepting a scholarship to Boston University over Maryland, Virginia and Penn State, Roberts would earn his place as one of the top wrestlers in BU history. He was a three time captain of the BU wrestling team and qualified for the NCAA tournament three times (2007, 2008 and 2009). He placed in the Colonial Athletic Association Championships, 1st in 2007, 3rd in 2008 and 2nd in 2009. He won 108 matches for BU during his outstanding wrestling career there. Mike also made a name for himself in the 2007 Southern Scuffle when he defeated the nationally No. 1 ranked and No. 3 ranked wrestlerd and earned MOW along with being named Wrestler of the Week by TheMat.com.

Roberts earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics in 2008 and his Master of Science, Financial Economics in 2009 from Boston University. He is currently the Director of Demand Generation for Schoology in New York City.
