Class of 2016

David Koplovitz was a New York State Section 2 Champion for the Niskayuna Silver Warriors in 1981. David was also a 3 time NYS Greco Roman and Freestyle Champion. He was a Joliet International Champion and an Empire State Games Champion in 1982 along with winning the Great Dane Invitational. He was a 2 time Espoir National Champion and a 2 time US Olympic Sports Festival Champion in 1981 and 1982. He was also a two time Espoir World Silver Medalist, once in Freestyle in 1981 and then again in 1982 in Greco-Roman.

David went on to have a very successful wrestling career at Boston University where he competed in 3 NCAA Championships in 1983, 1985 and 1986. He was also a 3 time New England Conference Champion is 1982, 1984 and 1985.

David had great success at the international level as well as being a 5 time US National Senior Greco Roman Silver Medalist. He was the Granma Open Champion in Cuba, Peer Gynt Champion in Norway, Fyra Stads Champion in Sweden and Concord Cup Champion in 1985. Koplovitz was also the Swedish Nation Freestyle Champion in 1996.

David was a 2 Time Olympic Alternate, in the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul and repeated in the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona.

Koplovitz graduated with a Degree in Finance from Boston University and got his Masters at the University of New York at Albany where he also worked as a wrestling coach.

David has been married for 22 years to his wife Carin and they have two daughters who he coached in soccer. He currently lives in Florida where he has worked as a manager in high tech development corporations and is currently President of SQUALUS in Coral Springs, FL.
